Chopard's 9th Participation at 59th Cannes Film Festival

Along the history of Swiss watchmaking Chopard designed and continues to design exclusive and luxury watches which are worn by many celebrities worldwide. Besides its main activity as a jeweler and watchmaker, Chopard also participates in various activities among which there is the very famous Cannes Film Festival.

In 2006 the famous film festival in Cannes housed many celebrities and surely the 59th film festival could not take place without Chopard. The famous brand, which designs jewelry and timepieces, persisted throughout the whole festival, accompanying celebrities like Audrey Tautou, Andy McDowell, Penelope Cruz, Eva Herzigova and many more.

Chopard is a partner of Cannes Film Festival for the ninth time in a row, providing all the best jewelry and watches for various movie celebrities. A lot of famous people from the world of movie making, while climbing the red carpet, were spotted wearing masterpieces from Chopard.

On this film festival Chopard is more than a brand it is also the designer of the most coveted award in film making, which is the Palm d'or. Besides various prizes and creations, Chopard had several receptions. One of the latter is the traditional gala held by the association of AIDS prevention. The AMFAR housed an incredible number of stars among which there were: Sharon Stone, Elton John and Elizabeth Hurley.

Since 2001 in Cannes several new actors and actresses are awarded with a trophy. In 2006 the young Italian actress Jasmine Trinca and the American actor Keving Zegers were awarded with this fine trophy which was presented by Chopard's vice-president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele and the president of the festival Gilles Jacob.

On May 27, 2006 the famous jeweler and watchmaker Chopard celebrated its nine years of partnership with Cannes Film Festival. To remember this historical event, Chopard's vice president Caroline Gruosi-Scheufele was named the honorary citizen of Cannes. This was an award for the commitment of Chopard and its continuous participation at Cannes Film Festival. This fact also serves as a motivation for Chopard's following participation at Cannes 60th edition.
